It doesn't appear that we have the funding for the Ghana fast this year. I'll be planning a 41 day fast in Miami, Fl for God to free Cuba from Fidel Catro's Socialist Communism. Gene.
"Battle And Build"
In the book of Nehemiah, we find the story of a man of God who is so distraught about the status of his home city that he 'wept, mourned, fasted and prayed' (see: Nehemiah 1:4). God evidently heard his prayer and saw his humility before God's face, as Nehemiah was given the provision to return to his city and rebuild the walls thereof. But it wasn't all easy. Nehemiah had to both battle and build in the process of rebuilding his city. Nehemiah 4:17 reads, "They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laden, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon." With one hand, they built the wall; with the other hand, they defended their work and themselves. As I look over our work here in the Slave Freedom Movement, I see that we are all to both battle and build, build and battle, as we seek to honor God in TAX SLAVE FREEDOM, etc. Some might ask, "Why do we need to send Thurston Bell to school?" I say that we must work both ends of the movement at the same time. Yes, we march on Washington with the TAX MARCH. Yes, we work to free slaves in Africa and the people of Cuba from Fidel Castro. But we also build by educating our own by building their economic opportunities. Imagine a world where there are 50 or 500 or 5,000 or 50,000 or 500,000 or 5,000,000 Charlie Beal's; cash in hand, knowledge in mind, faith in action. This is the movement I seek to be a part of. It is a movement that makes people into soldiers of the cross of Christ and those soldiers into giants for God's work. And so let us battle and build, build and battle. Where will you be going to school next fall? What job opportunity are you looking for to improve your economic condition for yourself and the movement? Where is your place to battle and build the movement today and tomorrow? Pastor Gene Chapman slavefreedom.com exodus10-3.org 888-606-9379 Sunday, December 21, 2003
"Enslaver"
In I Timothy 1:10, we find an interesting word: "menstealers." This word is the Greek word, "andrapodistes." This word means, "enslaver." Enslaver carries with it the notion of 'bringing a man to his feet,' and 'kidnapping.' The Word of God indicates that an "enslaver" is under the judgment of "the law" (vs. 9). So we can say with confidence that being an enslaver is "contrary to sound doctrine" (vs. 10) and is in the same grouping with "whoremongers, them that defile themselves with mankind, liars, manslayers, murderers, unholy," etc. So if you find yourself in this enslaver category, you are in a deep mess with God. Who enslaves? Well, anyone who forces a person to trade labor for freedom from jail would be an enslaver, like the judge and prosecutor in the Dick Simkanin case, for example. Any IRS agent, and a leader of a Socialist Communist country would fall into this category, like Fidel Castro or any U. S. Congressman or U. S. Senator, as they work to impose all ten planks of the ungodly Communist Manifesto upon the people of the world. And even a slave trader in Ghana would be such an "enslaver." These are all wicked sinners in the eyes of God. Their only hope is to repent of their gross sin and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. Well, I just ran the numbers on this job I got to pay off my personal bills, and it's averaging $1,093 per week since September 17th thru last Saturday, take home. But don't expect me to keep this up past next April. I'm going into the poverty side of ministry then. I feel God will be better served with me in the trenches, sleeping in ditches if I have to. I'm just trying to get my bills in order, so I don't burden the movement with me. Gene.
Fred is getting a NEXTEL phone set up for me tonight at a $25 initial purchase cost and $50 per month plus tax. We'll use the walkytalky nationwide ability for our conferences while here in America.
I'll be upgrading to a $600 satellite phone for the 41 day fast against the slave runners in Ghana, Africa this November. The extended trip to India may be too much to ad on this year. We'll see how the money goes. Gene. Saturday, November 15, 2003
"Slavery Must Stop Here And Now!"
The other day, I was listening through the New Testament being read on tape, and I Corinthians 7:20-24 jumped out at me so much so that I couldn't get to sleep until 2 a.m. Let's have a look at the death blow God offers slavery of every kind. In verse 20, Paul the Apostle is telling the church at Corinth that "servants" (ie. slaves) who are saved while already "servants" shouldn't go around causing upheaval in the society around them. When you get saved, don't be jumpy; rather, stay at your post. In verse 21, Paul uses a Greek word which means "slave," as I've already alluded to above. The King James 1611 Bible could just as easily have been written, "Art thou called being a slave?" So Paul is telling slaves in specific not to run off or cause conflict with their master. God does lay out a through-the-back-door moral challenge to both slaves (vs. 21) and slave owners (ie. "free" vs. 22) that they are to use freedom when it is given, assuming they are a slave. And the free person is to be as a slave to Christ Jesus (vs. 22). The moral idea is that slavery is not the preferred state of a person in God's eyes. So slave owners have to go to bed each night knowing that God wants everyone to "use" (vs. 21) any freedom they are given. This is the moral argument that led the United Kingdom and later America out of the African Slave Trade. Now for the death blow to slavery. In I Corinthians 7:23, Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Ghost writes for us all, down through the ages, "Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the [slaves] of men." If you are a "free born Christian" or a "free now Christian," you are the purchased possession of Jesus Christ, by his finished work on the cross. As such, you do not have the authority to be a slave to a man or any system made by man. Let's nail the coffin shut. The word, "servants" in I Corinthians 7:23 is the Greek word, "doulos." It means, "a slave," as I already indicated. But there is a linguistic nature to this word that is important. The word "slave" mentioned here is either "literally or figuratively," and either "volunary or involuntary." So, a 'free born' or 'free now' Christian is instructed by God that they do not have the authority to become a slave to a man or a slave to a man made system, either literally or figuratively, either voluntarily or involuntarily. We are the property of Jesus Christ (vs. 23). So whether you are a Christian Tax Slave in America, an Christian African sold into slavery in the Sudan or in Ghana, Africa, where I am to do the 41 day fast against the slave runners in November, 2004, or whether you are one of those listed on sexenslavement.blogspot.com and a Christian, God's instruction to you is that you do not have the authority to be a slave to anyone but God. And God wants you free to do his work of Love. You can't even "volunteer" to be a slave, according to I Corinthians 7:23. Finally, in verse 24, God tells us that wherever we are saved into the family of God, stay. If you are born in slavery, don't fight it. If you are "free born" or "free now," then "be not ye the slaves of men," literally, figuratively, voluntarily or involuntarily. It is the instruction of your God. My experience is that they are slaves who stand, speak, walk and work when told. They who tell you to do these things are not your master. Jesus is your master, and his instruction to you is not to stand, speak, walk or work when told by these presumed masters. Do not participate in their evil deed, lest you become a part of their enslavement effort and disobey God's instruction to every free born or free now Christian: "BE NOT YE THE SLAVES OF MEN!"
